Origins

Frédéric (Friedrich?) Hudlett, my grandfather's great-grandfather(!) was born in Germany in 1798.
His name Hudlett became Houdlette, Houdelette and Oudelette during the XIXth century.
We're only 5 French people named Oudelette !
However, there are some more Houdelette and Houdlette and some of them are my cousins.

In 1998, I discovered many French people named Oudelet, they could be another branch of our family.

The Houdlette I've found in the United States should not be relatives. Their common ancestor, a French Huguenot named Houdelette, leaved France in 1748 and settled in the USA but nothing can show a potential link between him and our family.
And I also found some Hudlet and Hudelet.

Much to my surprise, Oudelette was a Huguenot first name during the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries.

If you know some people named Oudelette, Houdelette, Houdlette, Hudelet, Hudlet or Oudelet anywhere in the world,
can you please try to get in touch to us?

I would be very interested in building the genealogy of my family.

Many thanks to every people who will help me in this job.
